Explore the effects of climate change on winter recreation communities across the United States

ABOUT

This project explores how climate change impacts the world beyond harming the environment. Across the planet, natural conventions are being reshaped due to pollution caused by human intervention. The consequences of a changing climate stretch far beyond the confines of nature and are beginning to impact the economic security of millions of individuals. The repercussions are already being felt across various sectors, experienced first by some more than others. This project serves as a platform to share the stories of one group on the front line of climate change’s effects: those working in the winter recreation industry. By discovering their stories, you will find how exactly climate change impacts employment opportunities, revenue, the cost of mitigation, and more. Sharing their stories is vital to bringing the issue out of the abstract. As you listen to the reports, consider how much longer it will take until a changing climate grows to impact those who are not currently at immediate threat.

THE FACTS

Climate change is not fiction; it is a fact. Throughout this project, scientific evidence of this global phenomenon will be referenced on a micro-scale to demonstrate the genuine impacts of climate change: historical referencing, current manifestations, and scientific predictions for the future.
